Guarda Mare’s origins date back to the Middle Ages. 85 cm thick walls are evidence of its historical origins. What was originally a two-room house, a combination of stables downstairs and living quarters upstairs, has gradually become a comfortable domicile. After the current owner family had used it for more than twenty years exclusively as a holiday home, the family decided a few years ago to extend and renovate the house to meet the needs of discerning holiday guests. Particular attention was paid to the stylish integration of the extensions and the use of classic materials. Naturally, the latest technology was used for electricity, gas and water, so that today you can enjoy your time at Villa Guarda Mare in style and comfort. 2 double rooms, 1 flat with an additional sofa bed and a single room can comfortably accommodate between 7 and 8 people. A baby cot is also available, which can be set up in all rooms. This means that there is place for max.9 incl. Baby.

I have known Laura and her brothers Moritz and Vincenz and her parents Eckhard and Andrea since I was a child myself. It’s great what Guarda Mare has become. It’s good that high-quality tourism projects are being skilfully implemented in Roccatederighi. I am happy to organise events such as cookery courses or sightseeing tours for the guests of our own house and for Guarda Mare.

My parents bought Guarda Mare more than 30 years ago. So I had the opportunity to spend my holidays there throughout my childhood. I really enjoyed this. During the day, we always went to the sea, as there was no pool yet. From time to time, we also travelled to Siena, Florence or Rome or had to assist our parents with wine, pasta, cheese or olive oil tastings in enchanted places with alleyways that no cars could pass through. Well, it’s true, the good ice cream always made up for it. After extensive renovations a few years ago, I help with the letting of Guarda Mare.

I pay particular attention to cleanliness in the kitchen, the oven, the hob and the grill. I am the good soul of the Guarda Mare service team. The good old values. So that you enjoy cooking delicious meals here with us in the Maremma or grilling the wonderful salcicce from butcher Carlo Salvestroni on the large gas grill, or rolling out a fresh pasta in the kitchen.

The large property of the holiday home Guarda Mare requires some activities. We try to leave as many flowers of our region as possible. Wild fennel and broom are just two of the many species. But of course it should also look well-kept. So we try to find a compromise between preserving the diverse fauna and representing the Guarda Mare estate.
